CT Scan Centre in Dehradun

At Semwal Diagnostics, the best CT Scan centre in Dehradun, CT Scan is one of the most advanced technologies. So far, CT scanning has been introduced in the medical industry. There was a time when we were all dependent on X-rays because no other similar technologies existed to assist professionals in obtaining a complete image of internal injuries. CT scan technologies, on the other hand, have made a grand entrance as a turn-key solution to all of these problems. Introducing groundbreaking, Siemens Healthineers CT scanner which is known for decades as the innovation leader: Innovating to maximize clinical outcomes, and to contribute to patients’ well-being by minimizing radiation and contrast media dosage.

A CT or CAT scan stands for CT scan with combines a series of X-ray images taken from different angle and creates a sequences of images like slices of bones and soft tissues inside your body, even the very small structures such as, tiny blood vessels.

Depending on what part of your body is being scanned, you may be asked to wear a gown and to remove any metal from your body such as, belts, jewelry and glasses which might interfere with the quality of the images.

Since its inception, our practice has made several significant strides. Semwal Diagnostic, with its modern procedure room and modern equipment, is now regarded as the pride and best CT Scan centre in Dehradun.

Procedure

Once in scanning room , the technologist will ask you to lie on a comfortable bed that moves up and down and back and forth. You maybe asked to take a special dye, called a contrast media which helps highlights specific parts of your body on the scan. Contrast media maybe given to you as a drink or as an injection. You may feel a warm feeling or metallic taste in your mouth.

Your doctor will ask you whether you are comfortable, and then he will leave the scanning room to control the examination from the console room next door.

The technologist will be able to see, hear and speak to you at all times by intercom and through the viewing window. You maybe asked to hold your breath at certain points to avoid blurring the images. The table gently moves you in the scanner and the detectors rotate around you to complete each separate view.

The Risks

CT scan expose you to a small amount of radiation the dose depends on what type of scan you receive and is always kept as lowest possible while making sure that the image quality is good for accurate diagnosis. All doses are considered low dose and newer machines and techniques require even less radiation than was previously used .

The risk of missing a serious disorder by not having a medically appropriate CT scan is considerably greater than the risks of the scan itself but like any medical test. If its not needed, it should not be performed.

Allergic Reactions & Warning

Iodine-based contrast media can cause allergic reactions in a small percentage of patients. If you are allergic to any drugs, contrast media, or iodine, please inform your doctor. Patients having  diabetes or renal disease requires special care because the kidneys are involved with  filtering the iodine from the blood stream.

Time Taken

The examination take between 10 min and half and hour. If there is any specific instructions you have to follow before the kind of CT scan you are having these will be sent to you prior to your appointment.

After Care Instructions

Following the procedure, you can immediately resume your daily activities.

If you were given contrast your maybe given special instructions . In special cases you maybe asked to wait for a short time before leaving to ensure you feel well after the scan.
